Spearmint tyggis, svovel, fat og klassisk sentralburgunder. Litt grønnaktig og flere var i Chassagne. Intens limey finish, frisk syresnert og vinen kan fortsatt ligge. 91-93 poeng

Anjou Blanc 2015, Thibaud Boudignon
Blank og transparent, syrlig og stram. Øistein var tidlig på Loire. Bra bitt, mager sitron og en klassisk vin til fisk e.l. Men den virker noe tynn i frukten og er ikke helt balanse. 87-89 poeng

Thibaud Boudignon is one of the new young stars of the Loire Valley based in Savennieres. He also owns two small vineyards across the river on the south side of the Loire in the Anjou. Having worked with Philippe Charlopin in Gevrey Chambertin, Chateau Lafite Rothschild in Bordeaux (amongst others) and also in Australia he has been (since 2007) the winemaker for Chateau Soucherie in Coteau du Layon making a range of dry and sweet wines for that large prestigious property.

With a total of just 7 hectares of vines he has gradually bought and planted several prime parcels in the small Savennieres appellation including a parcel which borders Baumard's Clos St Yves vineyard (not far from the famous La Roche-aux-Moines vineyard). He has also planted another vineyard, Le Clos de Fremine, just south of Savennieres near the village of La Possonnière with sandy soil and across the road is his main vineyard Clos de la Hutte beside which he has built a remarkable small and modern winery which is regulated by thermal energy which is submerged below the ground around the winery. Given the small size of the winery it is clear that he intends to concentrate on small quantities of chenin blanc which are already pushing the boundaries of what has been accepted as possible with this variety.

Working organically in the vineyards he harvests by hand making successive tries throughout each vineyard ending with yields that are much lower than the AOC rules. During the growing season he employs one person per hectare to manage the vines. In the winery the grapes are whole bunch pressed with no settling and the juice kept cold before starting a long slow fermentation. He vinifies with natural yeasts and ages the wines on lees with minimal SO2 in a mixture of barrels ranging from 300-600 litres. There are hogsheads, cigares, puncheons and small 600 litre foudres from the highly regarded Austrian cooper, Stockinger. Ultimately though, new oak influence is not a part of the style. This results in wines of striking purity, depth and intensity, with each wine clearly reflecting its particular terroir. They are really profound wines with terrific freshness and structure that have the capacity to age well for many years.

Morgenurin, marsipan, rik nese med innslag av botrytis. Litt uenighet om det var flor her. Tørket aprikos, honning og utmerket syre. Flere var rett på Jura. Floral og godt moden, men ingen hast. 86-87 poeng

760 flasker slippes. Dufter av toast og honning med hint av sopp og oliven samt tre. Tett og moden rik og salt frukt på smak med en nydelig tørr og lang finish.

Domaine Ganevat holder til i det sørlige Jura, midt i mellom Macon og Arbois. FanFan (Jean Francois) har i en årrekke blitt genierkært for sine viner. Flere har blitt begeistret etter smaking av noen av de utallige cuveene han produserer hvert år. På eiendommen sin i La Combe d´Rotalier produserer han vin sammen med søsteren Anne fra 9 hektar vinmark. Familien har laget vin fra disse samme vinmarkene i flere hundre år.

Selv om det bare er en times kjøring mellom områdene er klimaet rundt Rotalier sør i Jura varmere enn Arbois lengre nord. Vinplantene blomstrer tidligere, og man får en lengre modning over tid som gir en god konsentrasjon i druene. Ganevat sine vinmarker har aldri vært sprayet, og de pløyes manuelt med hest for å holde mest mulig oksygen i jorden. Ganevats eldste vinstokker er plantet i 1900, og resten er stort sett plantet mellom 1930-1950. i 2000 fikk han også replantet mange av de nesten utdødde druetypene som l´Enfariné, Beclan & Isabelle. De fleste plantene på eiendommen er på upodete vinstokker. Det er enorme variasjoner i jordsmonnet, så hver parsell blir vinifisert og tappet for seg selv, noe som resulterer i svært mange cuveer.

Fra 2012 har han som de flere andre andre vinprodusenter inngått langtidssamarbeid med vinbønder om kjøp av druer. Disse druene brukes kun i vinene under firmanavnet SAS Ganevat, da han ønsker at Domaine Ganevat sine viner skal bestå av det samme druematerialet som de alltid har bestått av.

For vinene under SAS Ganevat, er det tett samarbeid med venner som deler samme ideologi rundt vinproduksjon.  Druer til disse vinene kommer fra Alsace og Beaujolais, og tappes som Vin de France. Noen cuvéer blandes også med noen av de lokale druesortene FanFan har tilgang på.

Mineralsk, grønnskjær, sjø og havbris. En utviklet og pen Chablis. Flott i munnen og viser godt vinmarkens åpne stil. Etterhvert i glasset noe tropisk og flere trodde Grenouille/Grand Cru. Fet og en deilig Chablis. 93 poeng

Vaillons is an important premier cru which can be further sub-divided: Beugnons, Chatains, Les Epinottes, Les Lys, Mélinots, Roncières, Sécher. Most producers use the Vaillons name to facilitate blending a recognisable, easy-drinking, fresh style which is usually generous and attractive early on.

Sébastien Dampt explains: ‘Vaillons faces mainly east – a very good exposition. In general, the wines have more freshness and a lot of minerality. In my range, it’s the wine with the highest acidity – very “Chablis” in style.’

One of the most interesting Vaillons climats is that of Les Lys which, unusually, faces north on very steep slopes. As a result, the wines are taut, cool, precise and worth knowing in a hot vintage. Cécilia Trimaille, the new régisseur (estate manager) at Domaine Long-Depaquit, states: ‘Les Lys is always more mineral, more delicate like lace, with a floral touch.’
