Fra winedoctor.com:

Federico Carletti, assisted by oenologist Carlo Ferrini, is one of the leading producers of Montepulciano. The Carletti family purchased the Poliziano estate in 1961, but it is Federico who has brought the estate to the forefront of the regions' producers during the last two decades. The high level of quality is due, in part at least, to tireless attention to detail, as well as a certain degree of experimentation, in both cantina and vineyard. Such innovations include nurturing preferred clones of Sangiovese, early extraction of colour during the fermentation to avoid excessive tannin levels and even limited use of French oak.
The range of wines are led by a superlative Vino Nobile di Montepulciano cru Asinone, which is 100% Sangiovese, and produced only in the better years in order to maintain the quality of the straight Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. There is also a super-Tuscan Le Stanze a blend of the usual French varieties, and a simple Rosso di Montepulciano
